Rivalry between Bengals and Chiefs renewed, Cincinnati aims for first win of the season

It's been a long week for the Cincinnati Bengals, who got off to a slow start in their season opener against the New England Patriots last week. On Sunday, the task will be even tougher as the Bengals travel to the two-time defending champions and their modern-day archrivals, the Kansas City Chiefs, looking for their first win of the season. Follow all the action as the game unfolds with the WLWT Sports Team. If the Bengals don't want to seek their first win of the year next week on Monday Night Football, they'll have to do something they haven't done since 2018: win in week two. On Sunday, the Bengals will once again be shorthanded on offense as Tee Higgins and 2024 first-round draft pick Amarius Mims will be unable to play as they both work to recover from injuries. The Bengals will also be without second-round pick Kris Jenkins, who also missed last week's game. Cincinnati's pass offense struggled in Week 1 without Higgins. Joe Burrow threw for just 164 yards — his fewest in a full game since he threw for 165 yards last year in Tennessee — and only one receiver managed more than 50 yards (Ja'Marr Chase, 62 on six receptions). If there's any hope for the Bengals to do better offensively this week, it's the fact that the Chiefs allowed 267 yards to a Baltimore offense without a true No. 1 receiver, with backup tight end Isaiah Likely doing most of the damage against Kansas City (nine catches, 111 yards). The Chiefs opened their season with a win, but they were literally a toe away from entering Sunday with an 0-1 record as well. Kickoff is at 4:25 p.m.
