Live updates and highlights from the NFL game of the second week

The Arizona Cardinals will resume their schedule for the 2024 NFL season with a Week 2 NFL game against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, September 15. It will be the first of three consecutive home games for the Cardinals.

In the first quarter, rookie WR Marvin Harrision Jr. collected more than 100 receiving yards and his first two career touchdowns. The Cardinals also completed a 99-yard touchdown drive.

Rams and Cardinals swap field goals

A 29-yard field goal was all the Rams managed after a promising drive.

The key play was a 42-yard pass from Matthew Stafford to Demarcus Robinson.

The Rams benefited from an unnecessary roughness penalty and worked their way to the Cardinals' 5-yard line before retreating on several plays and kicking a field goal.

Arizona then regained its 21-point lead with a 48-yard field goal from Matt Prater.

Cardinals score another touchdown

The Cardinals had three possessions and three touchdowns.

The last goal came on a 99-yard drive that started at the Cardinals' 1-yard line.

The success was crowned by an 18-yard touchdown pass from Kyler Murray to Elijah Higgins.

Murray is 8 of 9 for 166 yards and three touchdowns.

Cardinals lead 14-0 against Rams after the first quarter

The Arizona Cardinals lead the Rams 14-0 after the first quarter.

The Rams have yet to record a first down, while the Cardinals have nine. The Cardinals have outscored the Rams 202-13.

Marvin Harrison Jr. reaches 100 receiving yards

Less than 12 minutes into Sunday's game against the Rams, Cardinals rookie Marvin Harrison Jr. completed his first game with a 100-yard pass reception.

Harrison crossed the mark with a 33-yard pass from Kyler Murray, giving him 130 yards and two touchdowns on four catches.

Connection between Murray and Harrison grows

The Cardinals started a drive inside their own 1-yard line and needed a quick gain. Kyler Murray ran to Marvin Harrison Jr. on the sideline and gained 15 yards.

The play, which was similar to a play a week ago in Buffalo where the pass was incomplete, illustrated the connection between the quarterback and his No. 1 receiver.

In 10 minutes of play, Murray has completed 4 of 5 passes for 100 yards and two touchdowns. Harrison has been targeted on four of those attempts and has three catches for 98 yards and two touchdowns.

Marvin Harrison Jr. scores second NFL touchdown

After breaking away from his defender, Marvin Harrison Jr. caught his second pass – and second touchdown pass – of the game.

The 60-yard completion came on the first play of the Cardinals’ second possession.
