Effingham woman arrested for alleged stabbing of Alma man

A 23-year-old Effingham woman was arrested by Marion County sheriff's deputies in connection with the stabbing of an Alma man in his home early Saturday evening.

Lancy Flowers, of 925th Avenue, is being held in the Marion County Jail on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and domestic violence. She is expected to make her first court appearance Monday afternoon.

Preliminary information from the Sheriff's Department indicates that the 23-year-old Alma man was stabbed three times with a kitchen knife during a domestic dispute.

The alleged victim called another family member, who called the sheriff's department to report the incident.

The Alma man was transported to Salem Township Hospital by United Medical Response for treatment of his injuries.

The incident was first reported to the sheriff's department at 5:59 p.m. Saturday evening.
