A woman is dead after an alleged domestic violence incident in Wood County

AUBURNDALE – A woman is dead following an alleged domestic violence incident Sunday morning in Wood County, and a 22-year-old man is in custody in connection with the incident.

The Wood County Emergency Management Agency received a call around 7:52 a.m. Sunday about a disturbance at the corner of East McMillan Street and Rock Inn Road in the city of Auburndale, according to a news release from the Wood County Sheriff's Office.

Wood County Sheriff's officers, Marshfield police officers and paramedics arrived at the scene. When they arrived, they found the woman in the street on East McMillan Street. She was dead, the news release said.

The incident is being investigated as a domestic violence incident that resulted in the woman's death, the press release said. The sheriff's office said no further information would be released at this time.
