List of Emmy winners 2024

The 2024 Primetime Emmy Awards were presented on Sunday evening. Hacking and surprisingly took home the win for best comedy series.

In addition, the star of the show, Jean Smart, was awarded as best actress in a comedy series.

Hacking was a surprise winner over The bearwhich won Best Comedy Series last year. However, the latter has picked up four other major awards, including nominations for the acting performances of three of the series' cast members: Jeremy Allen White (Best Lead Actor in a Comedy Series), Liza Colón-Zayas (Best Supporting Actress, becoming the first Latina to ever win in that category) and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Best Supporting Actor). In addition, Christopher Storer won for Best Directing in a Comedy Series. With its 2,024 Emmy awards in total, The Bear set a new record for most awards in a single season for a comedy with 11, surpassing its own tally from last year when it won 10 awards.

Shogun collected four awards, including Best Drama Series. In addition, Anna Sawai was named Best Actress in a Drama Series, while Hiroyuki Sanada was named Best Actor, becoming the first Japanese actor to win that category. Frederick EO Toye was named Best Director of the Series.

Baby reindeer also won four awards, including Best Miniseries or Anthology Series. Richard Gadd won Best Actor in a Miniseries or Anthology Movie and also received the Emmy for Best Screenplay in the Genre. His co-star Jessica Gunning won Best Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or Anthology Movie.

In the other acting categories, Elizabeth Debicki won the award for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for The Crownwhile Billy Crudup won the award for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for The morning show. Lamorne Morris was awarded as Best Supporting Actor in a Mini-Series or Anthology Movie, while Jodie Foster was awarded as Best Actress in the Genre for True Detective: Nightland.

Last Week Tonight with John Oliver was voted the best variety series and beat Saturday Night Livewhile The traitors dethroned long-term winner RuPaul's Drag Race as best reality competition program. The daily show won the Emmy for best talk series.

In the writing categories Alex Edelman: Just for us won for Best Variety Special, while Will Smith was honored for his work on the drama series Slow horses.

Steven Zaillian won the award for Best Director of a Miniseries, Anthology Series or Movie for Ripley.

During the ceremony, Greg Berlanti was also presented with the Governors Award by Matt Bomer and Joshua Jackson.

Eugene and Dan Levy will host the 76th annual celebration, which will be broadcast live on ABC from the Peacock Theater in LA.

The Primetime Emmys were awarded one week after the Creative Arts Emmys. Check out the winners from night one and night two.

On the way to the ceremonies, Shogun led the nominations and was also the frontrunner at the Creative Arts ceremonies last week with 14 wins. Other top nominees are The Bear, Only Murders in the Building, True Detective: Night Country And The crown.
