101 arrests, drugs and weapons worth $279 million seized

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – More than 100 people were arrested Thursday in connection with a months-long Crime and Drug Enforcement Task Force operation.

On September 12, numerous law enforcement agencies were deployed throughout Columbus as arrest warrants were executed.

According to the Muscogee County Sheriff's Office, 101 people were arrested as part of Operation Sweet Silence.

Nineteen of the 101 people were charged in federal court with alleged drug trafficking, gang membership and ties to a gang in Columbus, a press release said.

The following 19 people have been charged by the federal government:

  • Dequindre Dawson, 32, of Columbus, is charged with two counts of possession of a weapon in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, one count of possession of a weapon by a person acting in an unauthorized manner, two counts of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, and two counts of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. If convicted, Dawson faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, followed by a minimum of three years of probation and a $1,000,000 fine.
  • Jhy'Keith Williams aka “Keith Keith,” 23, of Columbusis charged with illegal possession of a submachine gun. If convicted, Williams faces a maximum sentence of ten years in prison, followed by three years' probation and a $250,000 fine.
  • Tommie Mullins, Jr. aka “TJ” aka “Bo” aka “Mini,” 30, of Columbusis charged with conspiracy to possess controlled substances with intent to resell and possession of methamphetamine with intent to resell. If convicted, Mullins faces a maximum sentence of life in prison;
  • Anthony Champion, 45, of Columbusis charged with conspiracy to possess controlled substances with intent to resell. If convicted, Champion faces a maximum sentence of life in prison;
  • Trenton Clemons, 47, of Columbusis charged with conspiracy to possess controlled substances with intent to resell and possession of methamphetamine with intent to resell. If convicted, Clemons faces a maximum sentence of life in prison;
  • Christopher Hill, 35, of Columbusis charged with conspiracy to possess controlled substances with intent to resell. If convicted, Hill faces a maximum sentence of life in prison;
  • Darius Jenkins, 23, of Columbusis charged with conspiracy to possess controlled substances with intent to resell. If convicted, Jenkins faces a maximum sentence of life in prison;
  • Javonta Paden, 24, of Columbus, is charged with conspiracy to possess controlled substances with intent to resell. If convicted, Paden faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.
  • Adrian Palmer aka AP, 24, from Columbus, is charged with conspiracy to possess a controlled substance with intent to resell, possession of methamphetamine with intent to resell, possession of marijuana with intent to resell, and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking offense. If convicted, Palmer faces up to life in prison.
  • Adrian Pleasants, 28, of Columbusis charged with conspiracy to possess controlled substances with intent to resell. If convicted, Pleasants faces a maximum sentence of life in prison;
  • Trenton Thomas aka “Bubble,” 24, of Columbusis charged with one count of conspiracy to possess a controlled substance with intent to distribute and two counts of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. If convicted, Thomas faces a maximum sentence of life in prison;
  • Corey Turner aka “Lito” aka “Lito Red,” 32, from Columbus, is charged with conspiracy to possess controlled substances with intent to resell, possession of cocaine with intent to resell, and possession of a weapon in furtherance of a drug trafficking offense. If convicted, Turner faces up to life in prison.
  • Jantzen Carter, 39, of Waverly Hall, Georgia, is charged with possession of five kilograms or more of cocaine with the intent to resell. If convicted, Carter faces a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.
  • Fernando Brown aka “Nino,” 31, of Columbus, is charged with one count of conspiracy to possess controlled substances with intent to distribute, two counts of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, one count of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, two counts of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, two counts of possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. If convicted, Brown faces a maximum sentence of life in prison;
  • Undrae Hayes aka “Skizite,” 36, of Columbus, is charged with conspiracy to possess controlled substances with intent to resell and possession of methamphetamine with intent to resell. If convicted, Hayes faces a maximum sentence of life in prison;
  • Jeffrey Kimbrough aka “YSN Trap,” 28, of Columbus, is charged with conspiracy to possess controlled substances with intent to resell. If convicted, Kimbrough faces a maximum sentence of life in prison;
  • Hykeem Lomax aka “Peso,” 32, of Columbus, is charged with conspiracy to possess controlled substances with intent to resell, possession of methamphetamine with intent to resell, possession of cocaine with intent to resell, possession of marijuana with intent to resell, and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking offense. If convicted, Lomax faces a maximum sentence of life in prison;
  • Davontay Richardson, 27, of Columbus, is charged with conspiracy to possess controlled substances with intent to resell. If convicted, Richardson faces a maximum sentence of life in prison;
  • Malik Williams aka “YSN Bird,” 26, of Columbus, is charged with conspiracy to possess controlled substances with intent to resell and possession of cocaine with intent to resell. If convicted, Williams faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.

According to officials, the defendants are in custody and are expected to appear in court by September 13.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, law enforcement seized fentanyl, methamphetamine and other controlled substances, as well as firearms, including a machine gun and Glock switches that can convert firearms into machine guns.

The total value of drugs seized in Thursday's operation is over $200 million. Below is a list of the drugs seized and their street value:

  • Sayvone Truitt (arrested in Muscogee County)

-Possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute

  • Deaunte Nobles (arrested in Muscogee County)

-Heroin trafficking

-Possession of Adderall

– Violation of probation conditions (serious crime)

– Possession of marijuana (misdemeanor)

  • Tommy Mullins Sr. (arrested in Muscogee County)

-Theft by receiving stolen goods (motor vehicle)

-Possession of items with altered serial numbers (serious crime)

  • Alex Brooks (arrested by the Clayton County Sheriff's Office in Clayton County, GA)

-Theft by receiving stolen goods

-Escape to escape (serious crime)

-Aggressive driving • Reckless driving

– Obstructing a police officer

-Several other traffic violations

-The Clayton County Sheriff's Office charges additional fees

  • Martrail Epps (arrested in Muscogee County)

-Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon (2 counts)

  • Tyrome Tukes (arrested in Muscogee County)

-Criminal use of a communication device to facilitate a criminal offence (3 charges)

  • Waymon Wiggins (arrested in Muscogee County)

-Marijuana trade

-Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime •

  • Deonte Porter (arrested in Russell County, Alabama)

-Use of a communication facility to facilitate a crime

  • Jesse Harper (arrested in Muscogee County)

-Probation violation (serious crime) – 2 counts

  • Jarvis Bell (arrested in Muscogee County)

-Probation Violation (Aggravated Felony) Brittany Vazquez (arrested in Russell County)

-Trading in marijuana

  • Omega Fuller (arrested in Alabama)

-Dangerous drugs (AL)

-Manufacture of controlled substances

Officials say more charges are pending and those cases remain under investigation.

The MCSO will hold a press conference on September 13 at 10 a.m. to provide further details on the execution and results of the search warrants.
