Wrong-way driver arrested after three-vehicle accident on I-94

SANBORN, ND (NewsDakota.com) – A wrong-way driver caused a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 94 near mile marker 283, about three miles southeast of Sanborn, on the evening of Sept. 14. According to a news release, no one was injured, but one driver was arrested following the incident.

At approximately 8:39 p.m., 39-year-old Skyler Holub of Jamestown was driving a 2017 Ford Escape westbound in the eastbound lanes of I-94 when he sideswiped two oncoming vehicles. The drivers of the other vehicles – a 2014 Ford Econoline U-Haul truck driven by 40-year-old Kory Russell of Valley City and a 1996 Buick Century driven by 32-year-old Peyton Glassic of Snohomish, Washington – were able to take evasive action to avoid a head-on collision.

The Ford Escape struck both vehicles before drifting into the south ditch, where it came to rest. The road was wet and the weather was cloudy at the time of the crash, a news release said.

Holub, who was not injured, was arrested by the North Dakota Highway Patrol for driving under the influence and reckless endangerment. The accident remains under investigation.

The Barnes County Sheriff's Department and the Valley City Fire Department were also on scene.
