76th Emmy Awards Red Carpet Looks: See Who Wore What

CNN

Red carpet season has begun and some of the biggest names in television descended on LA's Peacock Theater on Sunday for the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards.

Returning to their usual September slot (after last year's ceremony was pushed back to mid-January due to actors' and writers' strikes), the Emmys often provide clues about which TV shows might sweep later at the Golden Globe Awards and Screen Actors Guild Awards. They also often predict which evening wear trends will be big in Hollywood in the coming months.

The evening's red carpet was a relatively low-key affair, with many guests opting for dark floor-length gowns, classic silhouettes and column-length dresses. Still, there were plenty of fun details amidst the conventionally elegant black outfits, from the subtle gold detailing of Laverne Cox's vintage Alexander McQueen look to the sparkling pavé neckline of Selena Gomez's Ralph Lauren halter dress.

Some of the best moments of the evening, however, were in an altogether brighter shade: pink. There was the bubblegum tone of Meryl Streep's pantsuit and bow blouse and the dusty pink of Hannah Einbinder's Louis Vuitton crepe jersey and tulle dress. Eiza González and Aja Naomi King also followed the trend in Tamara Ralph and Giambattista Valli, respectively.

Elsewhere, attendees played with eye-catching materials, including “The Bear” actor Ayo Edebiri, who wowed in a mosaic-like, sequined Bottega Veneta outfit, and Quinta Bruson, whose strapless Georges Chakra couture mermaid gown looked almost like liquid. Kristen Wiig (in Oscar de la Renta) and Gillian Anderson (in Emilia Wickstead) were among the numerous attendees who wowed in silvery metallic – and in the case of Ella Purnell's Rabanne gown, chainmail – dresses.

In the men's department, many attendees eschewed traditional evening wear in favor of something more extravagant. “Abbott Elementary” star Chris Perfetti wore a theatrical ruffled shirt from Christian Siriano's spring 2025 ready-to-wear collection, and “Fallout” star Aaron Moten appeared in an all-red Kenzo suit with a Nehru collar. “The Traitors” actor Alan Cumming and fellow Scot Richard Gadd, creator of “Baby Reindeer,” both wore kilts, with the former's checkered cummerbund train peeking out from his cream Teddy von Ranson jacket and doubling as a scarf.

Even the men who opted for more conventional tailoring incorporated playful details, from presenter Dan Levy's sculptural Loewe neckline to the silky unbuttoned shirt of Jonathan Bailey's Giorgio Armani suit.
