2 people arrested after brawl at The Big E, others injured

WEST SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts (WGGB/WSHM) — At around 5 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to a large brawl with injuries at The Big E fairgrounds.

When officers arrived, several victims were found with various injuries, some requiring medical attention and transportation to Bay State Medical Center. In addition, a large group of individuals, some already known to WSPD, fled the area and the fairgrounds onto Memorial Avenue.

Officers were able to arrest and detain James and Levi Stanley in the area of ​​Big E's Gate 8 on Memorial Avenue. Following an on-site investigation of the incident, the Stanleys were charged with the above offenses, removed from the scene, and issued with a trespassing charge.

After being transported to the WSPD, it was discovered that James Stanley had stolen items that were in his possession from at least one of the assaulted victims and he was charged accordingly.

The two men are accused of various charges ranging from assault and disturbing the peace to property damage and unarmed robbery.
