Davenport driver taken into custody after police officer hit in arm in traffic accident

A 28-year-old Davenport woman was taken into custody Sunday evening after she punched a Davenport police officer in the arm early Sunday morning, according to court records.

Timarra Brown is facing a charge of assault on persons in certain occupations – use/drawing of a weapon, according to court records.

On Sunday, at approximately 4:45 a.m., Davenport Police responded to a report of suspicious activity in the 300 block of South Marquette Street.

According to affidavits, Brown was driving a gray Honda Passport and refused to stop for fully uniformed officers and a patrol car with flashing blue lights that were blocking Brown's path.

According to police affidavits, Brown swerved around the patrol car toward a fully uniformed police officer, striking the officer's left arm as he attempted to avoid her SUV.

Brown, who was being held in the Scott County Jail on $5,000 cash bail on Sunday, is scheduled to appear in Scott County Court for a preliminary hearing on Sept. 24.
