Man's attempted murder trial postponed in Elkhart County – 95.3 MNC

The trial of a man accused of attempted murder was postponed last week.

Emiliano Garcia Varrios' wife received a call from the Elkhart County Jail in December informing her that William Pritt IV was being released from prison. Pritt had been arrested a few days earlier for assaulting the woman.

According to Goshen News, Pritt had a relationship with Garcia Varrios' 14-year-old daughter, which he and his wife did not approve of.

Shortly after Pritt was released from prison, officers responded to a call about a shooting in Middlebury, where Pritt and his father had been shot.

Pritt told police that when he returned home from prison, Garcia Varrios and another man approached him and Garcia Varrios began shooting at him.

Garcia Varrios was charged with attempted murder and criminal recklessness. His jury trial was postponed until March 3.
