Geneva woman charged with petty theft after Walmart incident – Finger Lakes Daily News

The investigation into a theft report on Saturday at a Walmart branch in Geneva led to the arrest of a 61-year-old woman from Geneva.

Carmen Santiago is believed to have stolen $13.52 worth of merchandise after failing to pay at the last point of sale. Police say she was also working with another female suspect. Santiago was located by Geneva police and turned over to the Ontario County Sheriff's Office.

She was ultimately issued a summons and will return to Geneva Municipal Court at a later date to answer the charges.

The fact that a defendant is accused of a crime constitutes merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
