Woman charged with murder of 31-year-old

A woman has been charged with the murder of another woman in east London.

Hope Rowe, 32, of Piazza Walk, Whitechapel, is accused of killing a woman who was stabbed to death in the foyer of a block of flats in Duckett Street, Stepney Green, in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The victim has not yet been officially identified, but the Metropolitan Police are “certain” that she is 31-year-old Charlotte Lawler.

Ms Rowe is due to appear at Thames Magistrates' Court later.

She was also accused of possession of a knife object.

Police were called to Duckett Street in Tower Hamlets at around 01:17 BST on Sunday. London Ambulance Service also attended, but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Met said Ms Lawler's next of kin had been informed and would continue to be supported by specially trained officers.

A 37-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of aiding and abetting a crime was later released on bail.

A crime scene can still be seen at the address and investigations into the circumstances are ongoing, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 and quote CAD480/15 September.
