Trial underway against Cleveland man accused of killing five people, including a pregnant teenager

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – The trial of a Cleveland man accused of murdering five people, including a pregnant 18-year-old, on Cleveland's East Side in 2019 is now underway in Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas.

Jury selection for Terrell Silver, 35, began on September 5.

Opening statements were made on September 9, and the prosecution called the 911 caller and the first police officer. Additional police officers and detectives testified on September 10.

Closing arguments are scheduled for Monday, September 16.

According to Cuyahoga County Attorney Michael O'Malley, Silver broke into a home near East 144th Street and Kinsman Road between September 7 and September 21, 2019.

Once inside the house, Silver allegedly shot all four victims multiple times while they were lying on mattresses on the floor.

Two girls, ages 18 and 19, and two men, ages 20 and 23, were found dead in their home by Cleveland police officers on September 21, 2019.

Jazmyne Lawson, 18, of Euclid, was five months pregnant and Silver is charged with the death of her unborn child.

The other three victims were identified as follows:

Christopher Moore, 23, of Cleveland

Dejuan Damar Willis, 20, of Twinsburg

Aiyanna Quitman, 19, of Euclid.

The following charges were brought against Silver:

15 cases of serious murder

A case of serious burglary

A case of aggravated robbery

One count of possession of a weapon while under disability

One count of tampering with evidence
