Teenager and parents killed in Tesla crash, man hit by train: NJ Weekend

NEW JERSEY – A teenager and her parents were killed in a traffic accident on the Garden State Parkway, a man was hit and killed by a train on the New Jersey shore and a shooting claimed a life in Newark.

Police said patrol officers responded to mile marker 131.1 on the northbound parkway in Woodbridge just before midnight Sunday.

Authorities identified the deceased as David and Michele Dryerman, both 54 and of Woodcliff Lake, and a 17-year-old girl, also of Woodcliff Lake.

David Dryerman was driving a Tesla Model S north when the vehicle left the road and struck a sign, a railing and a concrete bridge pillar, state police said.

The crash remains under investigation.

Man killed in shooting in Newark

According to media reports, a man was killed in a shooting in Newark over the weekend.

The shooting occurred around 8 p.m. Saturday and the man was taken to a nearby hospital, NJ.com reported.

Authorities were unable to determine the man's identity. The investigation is ongoing.

Man fatally hit by train in Red Bank

A man was fatally struck by an NJ Transit train in Red Bank on Saturday afternoon.

The man was identified as Anthony Depalma, 39.

The accident occurred around 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of Bridge Avenue and Monmouth Street.

Car crashes through fence into restaurant in Ridgewood

According to a media report, a car crashed through a fence into a restaurant in Ridgewood on Friday evening.

A black Toyota Prius crashed through a chain-link fence, over a retaining wall and landed in the back of a restaurant building, News 12 reported.

No injuries were reported and the restaurant was undamaged.

The cause of the crash is still unknown.

3 people in hospital after accident on Route 3

Three people were hospitalized following an accident on Route 3 in Rutherford early Sunday morning.

Shortly after 5 a.m. Sunday, Rutherford police responded to a car crash on Route 3 West.

According to investigators, a Ford Range (model year 2022) driven by Justin LaTorre (40) collided with a Honda HRV (model year 2018). Four occupants were injured, three of whom were treated in hospital.

LaTorre attempted to turn west on Route 3, causing the collision, the Bergen County District Attorney's Office said.

He was charged with three counts of assault with a car and drunk driving, the prosecutor's office said.

According to authorities, LaTorre was taken to the Bergen County Jail in Hackensack, where he awaits his first audition.
