Officers with Louisiana State Police Troop A responded to the incident on LA 447 at Parkway Drive shortly after 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 15, 2024.

State police confirmed that 58-year-old Michael McManus of Denham Springs was killed in the accident.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2018 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by McManus was traveling northbound on LA 447 behind a 2007 Chevrolet Suburban. Impairment is not suspected on their part and both drivers voluntarily submitted to a chemical breath test. This accident remains under investigation.
