“For the first time, I can talk about there being a fifth season,” she told Good Morning America host Rebecca Jarvis.

“We all just found out on our own, so this is brand new for everyone. I'm very excited.”

The second part of the fourth season of “Emily in Paris” was released on September 12th and followed Emily on her forays through the Italian capital Rome.

Speaking of the new filming location, Lily revealed her hope that she and the rest of the crew will see more of Italy in the next season.

“We're exploring Rome and I really hope we get more of Italy in season five,” she said.

“We just had the best time. The whole cast felt a bit like Emily in the first season, running around the city with her eyes wide open and everything was so exciting.”

According to Netflix website Tudum, the series garnered “19.9 million views in its first four days” and reached the top ten in 93 countries.

She also revealed what it was like working with French First Lady Brigitte Macron after she made a cameo appearance in the show's fourth season.

“It was a huge honor,” she said. “It was also so surprising that she really loves the show and really wanted to be a part of it.”

“She invited Darren [Star] and I spoke to her a few years ago about the show and its impact on France and Paris.

“She made her cameo appearance in Part 1 of Season 1 with banter and humor and we all found a way to incorporate that and bring her on set and she improvised and she and her improvisation made the show.”

The latest series followed the dramatic events of the failed wedding of Camille, played by Camille Razat, and Gabriel, played by Lucas Bravo.

In the first part, Emily still had strong feelings for Gabriel and Lucien Laviscount's Alfie. But Gabriel was expecting a baby with his ex Camille and Alfie's worst fears about Emily and Gabriel were confirmed.

“The chemistry between Emily and Gabriel is undeniable as they work together towards a Michelin star, but two big secrets threaten to destroy everything they've dreamed of,” a synopsis reads.

“As old patterns collide with new complications, Emily finds herself drawn to a possible new love… and a new city.”

In the second part, Emily's return flight to Chicago is cancelled.

And although there is nothing better than being home during the holidays, she has to spend Christmas Eve with Gabriel and Camille's family in Megève.

Emily's new lover Marcello, played by Eugenio Franceschini, arrives soon after and after their first date in Paris, she visits him in Rome.

The finale ends with a great new opportunity for Emily: she is to take over the management of an office in Rome and Sylvie encourages Emily to accept this opportunity, not only to stay in beautiful Italy, but also to be closer to her new husband.
