40-year-old man shot dead in Severn, police suspect targeted incident

A 40-year-old man is dead after being shot multiple times in Severn on Sunday evening, police said.

On September 15 at around 8:50 p.m., officers said they responded to a reported shooting in the 8000 block of Marlton Court in Severn.

Upon arrival, officers encountered the person who reported the shooting, who had found the victim in a wooded area at the end of Marlton Court.

The victim, 40-year-old Anthony Lee Brown of Glen Burnie, was found with multiple gunshot wounds and was immediately taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The victim's remains were taken to the chief medical examiner's office for an autopsy.

Detectives from the homicide squad arrived at the crime scene and took over the investigation.

According to preliminary investigations, this was a targeted incident and not a random act of violence.
