Burger King is offering free food this September

A burger chain turns a one-day holiday into a week-long celebration.

September 18th is National Cheeseburger Day, when people all over the world enjoy a melt-in-the-mouth piece of beef.

Burger King is offering members of its Royal Perks loyalty program a free cheeseburger to celebrate the day. While the offer is valid on the holiday itself, the chain is also offering other tasty freebies for an entire week, all valid with a purchase of $1 or more:

  • 16 September: Customers can get a free Whopper Jr.
  • 17 September: Poultry fans get a free Original Chicken Sandwich
  • 18 September: On National Cheeseburger Day, burger lovers can get a free flame-grilled cheeseburger
  • 19 September: Customers can receive four free mozzarella fries
  • 20 September: Early risers get a free Croissan'wich
  • 21 September: Customers can enjoy four free chicken fries
  • 22 September: Quench your thirst for free gifts with a free soft drink (any size)

Additionally, Burger King is celebrating National Coffee Day on September 29 by offering Royal Perks members a hot coffee (any size) for $1 all day long.

Burger King is obviously a fan of giving away free Whoppers and other great deals: they gave away the goods for the chain's 70th anniversary in May and for the solar eclipse in April.

In a fourth-quarter conference call on August 8, the chain's executives announced that their $5 “Your Way Meal” offer had been so profitable that they had decided to extend the offer through October.

But BK is not the only chain that has a tempting offer on National Cheeseburger Day: competitor Wendy's is also selling Jr. Bacon Cheeseburgers for 1 cent (with an additional purchase) from September 18 to 22.
