Man arrested after January standoff sentenced in Radford court

RADFORD, Va. (WDBJ) – A man arrested after a standoff in Roanoke who had charges dropped in Roanoke has been convicted of other charges in Radford.

Shyne Williams pleaded guilty on September 16, 2024, to using a machine gun for aggressive purposes, failure to report an accident involving injury, and carrying a concealed weapon. Several other charges were dropped.

Williams was sentenced to four years in prison, with a further 12-year sentence suspended. He was also fined £2,000 and must serve five years' probation after serving his sentence.

The standoff occurred on Orange Avenue in January 2024. He was arrested on multiple warrants from Radford and Roanoke for aggravated possession of a weapon, intimidation, domestic violence and assault, and violation of a restraining order.

The Roanoke charges were dropped, but Shyne remains held on the Radford charges. WDBJ7 has reached out to Radford police for details on the charges against Radford.
