Ugly incident after encouraging visit from Kamala Harris' husband

To the Editor:

Until a few years ago I was independent, but then I switched to the Democratic Party for various reasons, including to be able to participate in the Florida primaries.
I attended the Doug Emhoff presentation at Lake Miona on 9/13. It was incredibly heartwarming and yes, joyful. It was packed to capacity, with extra areas, lots of people outside the recreation center, over 300 golf carts for the parade to SeaBreeze, and over 100 people cheering us on. When it was over, my friend and I were near the road before heading home across the bridge at Lake Sumter. I have a “Dog Mamma for Kamala” sign on the window of my golf cart and as we passed a couple of about 35 years old, the guy yelled a vile racial slur. Is this really the kind of divisive nation we want to be? I know I don't want it and that's why I would NEVER vote for Donald J. Trump. We were truly disgusted by this behavior and I hope people reading this feel the same.
