Longtime NBA wing explains why Lakers' LeBron James is his GOAT

LeBron James vs. Michael Jordan is the most common debate in the NBA. Whether you're a player, analyst, or fan, you have an opinion on which of these amazing athletes is the GOAT.

Recently, longtime NBA wing and former NBA Slam Dunk Contest winner Terrence Ross joined the debate.

During a Live stream on TwitchRoss was asked who he thought deserved the title of “Most Vice President” of the Olympics: James or Stephen Curry? For Ross, there was no question.

“LeBron was the best player in the entire Olympics, brother,” Ross said. “Curry did his thing the last two games, he absolutely blew the ball like you'd expect from him. LeBron literally put the team on his back and led them all the way there. [the gold]. I mean, without LeBron, Curry might not even be able to make those shots.”

Ross then went further and claimed that James was closer to GOAT status than Jordan due to his longevity and consistency.

“For me, LeBron is literally the GOAT,” Ross said. “I don't know how you can put Jordan above him. If Jordan had done what he did for 20 years, I would say, 'Yeah, LeBron has a long way to go.'”

“The truth is that he played basketball twice and came back twice. The first time he came back he managed three wins in a row and the second time he came back he was not the same player.

“LeBron has literally been at his peak his entire career,” Ross continued. “I mean, he's getting older, but he's still as effective as ever.”

Ross is not wrong. James is entering his 22nd consecutive season in the NBA. He was named Rookie of the Year in his first season and has been named to the All-Star team for 20 consecutive years.

In addition, Ross believes that the competition James played against is much more impressive than what Jordan faced.

“If we're being honest, I think that's more impressive at the level of competition he's up against than the competition Jordan beat,” Ross concluded.

Ultimately, there is no denying that both players have made huge contributions to basketball. James and Jordan should both be celebrated for everything they have accomplished.
