Week 2 concludes with the NFC East favorites Philadelphia Eagles (-240) taking on the NFC South favorites Atlanta Falcons (+200) on Monday Night Football at 8:15 p.m. ET on ESPN/ESPN2.

Philadelphia has just won the NFL game against São Paulo by 34:29 against the Green Bay Packers, with running back Saquon Barkley reaching the end zone three times in his first game with the Eagles.

The Falcons will look to rebound from their poor offensive performance in Week 1, in which they managed just 226 yards in an 18-10 home loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Kirk Cousins finished his Falcons debut completing 16 of 26 for 155 yards, 1 TD and 2 INTs, and Bijan Robinson had 68 rushing yards on 18 carries.

The Eagles enter the contest with a 5.5-point lead and aim to improve their record to 2-0, while the Falcons look to avoid two straight losses to start the season.

Favorite selection

Eagles -5.5 (-110): While I generally advise not to overreact in Week 1, I think alarm bells are in order in the Falcons' case. Kirk Cousins looked like a shadow of his former self against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and that's not going to change in eight short days.

Atlanta's defense was on the field on many plays and was physically worn down by the Steelers' rushing attack – and now has to deal with a better offensive line and a better running back in Saquon Barkley. Jalen Hurts isn't the runner that Justin Fields is, but he will actually pose a threat through the air that the Falcons will have to respect.

I expect Atlanta to perform better offensively, but only slightly – and nowhere near the level needed to keep up with this explosive Eagles team. Ben Solak

Kyle Pitts OVER 3.5 receptions (-130): The Eagles have struggled at tight end in recent years, often fielding subpar linebacker groups, and that feeling should continue this season, as neither undersized Nakobe Dean nor converted edge rusher Zack Baun have the coverage needed to handle Pitts.

Pitts runs most of his routes out of the slot, where Green Packers WR Jayden Reed was a hit in Brazil in Week 1 and where another below-average defender, nickelback Avonte Maddox, could draw a few coverage attempts against him. If we get the expected script for the Falcons' passing game, I think Pitts is a hit in garbage time. — Solak

Jalen Hurts UNDER 39.5 Rushing Yards (-110): I did this in Week 1 and I'm back in Week 2. Hurts just can't make explosive plays in the run game anymore. The Eagles use him as a battering ram on the tush push and as a downhill runner on QB draws. Against NFL speed, he doesn't get to the line of scrimmage as easily and he slides much earlier and more often than he did in 2022. We know he's only good for about nine runs, and we know two or three of those will be tush pushes. I'm not convinced he'll be explosive enough on the remaining six or seven to get to that number. — Solak
