Eagles-Falcons players not eligible to play: Devin White is out for health reasons, Johnny Wilson will play

The Philadelphia Eagles have officially announced the list of inactive players for their Week 2 game of the 2024 NFL Draft against the Atlanta Falcons.

The following Eagles players will NOT PLAY: AJ Brown, Devin White, Tanner McKee, Darian Kinnard, Trevor Keegan, Byron Young and Eli Ricks.

Brown was downgraded to OUT on Saturday after initially being listed as questionable. The Eagles hope his hamstring injury will only keep him from missing one game. In the meantime, the Birds have five wide receivers in for this game: DeVonta Smith, Jahan Dotson, Britain Covey, Johnny Wilson and Parris Campbell (who was temporarily promoted from the practice squad). Expect DeVonta to be a big presence. Johnny Wilson is notably ACTIVE despite being listed as questionable. Wilson completed a pregame workout under the watchful eye of the trainers and Howie Roseman.

White is a healthy backup; the veteran linebacker was not listed with a designation on the latest injury report. And so Nakobe Dean and Zack Baun will definitely be the starting linebackers again. White could potentially play in the future if injuries arise… but he's clearly not trusted to help out on special teams. Strange trajectory, from signing a one-year, $4 million contract ($3.5 million guaranteed)… to participating in all of the first-team's 11-on-11 reps in training camp… to being a healthy backup to start the season. Will White even be definitely on the roster at the end of the season?

According to the NFL's third quarterback rule, McKee is only allowed to play if both Jalen Hurts and Kenny Pickett leave the game due to injury.

Kinnard and Keegan have been dropped from the roster, with eight other offensive linemen still active ahead of them.

Young is no longer in action as the sixth defensive tackle due to injury.

Ricks was cut from the roster after being active in Week 1 but not playing much on special teams.

Rookie Jalyx Hunt is active for the first time in his NFL career.
