Philadelphia Eagles waive Patrick Johnson

The Eagles will be without former sixth-round pick Patrick Johnson ahead of Monday's game against the Atlanta Falcons.

The team announced the move before pre-game warm-ups, along with three other changes to the roster.

Johnson's departure could be a sign that Jalyx Hunt is ready to contribute weekly on defense and special teams.

The athletic linebacker could be an immediate addition to the practice squad if unclaimed and could be promoted in the event of an injury.

Johnson played four seasons for the Eagles, recording 23 solo tackles, 12 assists and one fumble recovery.
