Traffic on I-80/35 returns to normal after accident near Clive

Update: The closed lane was reopened and traffic returned to normal around 5:30 p.m.

An accident between University Avenue and Hickman Road caused traffic congestion on Interstate 35/80 near Clive Monday afternoon.

The Iowa Department of Transportation's 511 website states that the eastbound right shoulder is closed due to an accident. As of 4:45 p.m., eastbound traffic is delayed approximately six minutes, while westbound traffic is expected to experience an estimated two-minute delay.
