Semi-trailer crashes into building in Santa Clarita; at least 1 injured

The Los Angeles County Fire Department said one person was taken to the hospital in unknown condition, but it was unclear whether the person was in the building or driving a vehicle.

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. (KABC) — One person was hospitalized Monday after a semi-trailer truck struck the side of a building in a multi-vehicle crash in Santa Clarita.

It happened just before 3:30 p.m. on N Sierra Highway near Via Princessa.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department said one person was taken to the hospital in unknown condition, but it was unclear whether the person was in the building or driving a vehicle.

Traffic was backed up on N Sierra Highway just before rush hour began. The county fire department said building and safety inspectors were on site to check the building.
