Man dead, woman seriously injured after domestic incident in Milford, prosecutor says – Boston 25 News

MILFORD, Massachusetts – A man is dead and a woman is in critical condition following a domestic incident in Milford on Monday, officials said.

Worcester District Attorney Joseph D. Early confirmed an active police investigation into the incident in the South Bow Street area during an unrelated press conference on the recent death of a Massachusetts State Police recruit.

At 9 a.m. Monday morning, police officers arrived on South Bow Street to report a woman screaming. According to prosecutors, the woman suffered multiple stab wounds. First responders were able to revive the woman and she was taken to UMass Memorial Hospital, where she remains in critical condition.

When authorities entered the house, they found a dead man in the basement with a stab wound to the chest.

DA Early stated in a press conference on Monday afternoon that the two parties were husband and wife and that this was an isolated case.

The names of the victims have not been released and there is no information about arrests in connection with the incident.

The couple has four children, ages 14, 10, 7 and 5, who are currently in the care of family members, according to authorities.

According to police, the children were not at home at the time of the incident but at school.

In a Facebook post, Milford police asked the public to avoid South Bow Street from Central Street to Grove Street.

“Officers have currently closed the section,” the department wrote.

Kayo Ferreira did not know the couple. But he told Boston 25 News that he knew the children because they often came by to play with his dog.

“It made them happy, they always liked to pet the dog,” he said. Basically, it's heartbreaking for them.”
