Burlington man arrested after leading police on motorcycle chase, officials say

DES MOINES COUNTY, Iowa (KWQC) – A Burlington man was arrested after leading officers on a motorcycle chase.

Littlewill Tucker Minton, 40, of Burlington, is charged with failure to display a license plate, fleeing, a repeat offense, driving without a license, reckless driving, possession of meth with intent to traffic, possession of crack cocaine with intent to traffic, possession of marijuana with intent to traffic, failure to display a drug tax stamp and second-degree theft, according to a news release from the Des Moines County Sheriff's Office.

The allegations against Minton are based on the following.

On Saturday at around 1:19 p.m., Des Moines County officials said they attempted to stop a motorcycle for a registration violation at the corner of Oak and Ashmun streets.

The motorcycle did not stop but accelerated when officers activated their sirens and warning lights, officers said. They pursued the motorcycle through Burlington's north side.

The chase continued until Minton pulled into a driveway in the 1200 block of Washington Street and lost control of the motorcycle, causing it to come to a stop, officials said. Minton then attempted to flee but was arrested after a brief chase.

Minton was searched and officers said they found several baggies of suspected crack, meth, marijuana and a large amount of cash.

Minton was taken to Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center to be evaluated for injuries sustained during the chase, officials said. Minton was later taken to Des Moines County Correctional Center and charged.
