COLUMBUS – Officials are searching for a suspect accused of shooting a person near the Ohio State University campus Monday night in Columbus.

According to our news partner WBNS in Columbus, police responded to a report of a shooting just before 8:30 p.m. in the area of ​​John Herrick Drive and Olentangy River Road, near the south end of campus.

The university posted a public safety alert online Monday evening, saying a person stopped a bus and told the driver they had been shot.

The victim's condition was stable and he was taken to hospital, the university said.

The university identified the suspect as 31-year-old Richard Patridge.

He is accused of kidnapping a woman at gunpoint in Columbus earlier this month, WBNS reported.

She was later found safe and sound.
