Pfafftown man found dead, suspect charged with murder, officials say

INVESTIGATORS SAY BEAR WAS SHOT AND TODAY DEPARTMENTS ARRESTED 46-YEAR-OLD OMAR LOZADA. HE IS FACES SEVERAL CHARGES INCLUDING MURDER AND SECOND DEGREE KIDNAPPING. TOMORROW HE WILL MAKE HIS FIRST APPEARANCE IN COURT. THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE DID NOT SAY WHETHER THE TWO MEN KNEW EACH OTHER OR WHAT THE MOTIVE WAS BEHIND THE SHOOTING.

Officers found Brian Kermit Bare, 55, of Pfafftown with gunshot wounds. Watch: NOWCAST streaming newscastsOfficers arrested Omar Moore Lozado, 46, of Winston-Salem on Monday. Lozado was charged with premeditated murder, second-degree kidnapping, discharging a firearm into an inhabited property and possession of a firearm by a felon. Lozado was taken to the Forsyth County Detention Center and held without bail, the sheriff's office said. His first court date is scheduled for Tuesday. The sheriff's office did not disclose whether the victim and suspect knew each other or what their motive was, but said this was an isolated incident and no one in the community was in danger. According to a press release from the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office, officers were called to the 2700 block of Kecoughtan Road to investigate an assault.

Officers found Brian Kermit Bare, 55, of Pfafftown with gunshot wounds.

On Monday, officers arrested Omar Moore Lozado, 46, of Winston-Salem.

Lozado was charged with first-degree murder, second-degree kidnapping, discharging a firearm into an inhabited property and criminal possession of a weapon.

Lozado was taken to the Forsyth County Detention Center and held without bail, the sheriff's office said.

His first court date is scheduled for Tuesday.

The sheriff's office did not disclose whether the victim and suspect knew each other or the motive, but said it was an isolated incident and no one in the community was in danger.
