The cooling in Fresno is picking up speed this week, with highs of around 22 degrees expected today! Temperatures between 25 and 27 degrees are expected towards the weekend. The National Weather Service in Hanford says that Fresno could even see some rain mid-week. Hot weather is expected again next week.

🍯 The public is invited to Wednesdays in the West for an evening of “Pottery and Community.” Hosted by Alley in the Valley, the event will feature live demonstrations of pottery making and hand-made pottery on Wednesday, September 18th from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at Edison High School. Learn more

🚓 Fresno City Council has increased the reward for information leading to the arrest of the man caught on video kicking a sleeping man in the head last month, ABC30 reported. The $2,000 reward was doubled late last week when Councilman Mike Karbassi contributed $1,000 from his council budget. The 47-year-old homeless man was sleeping on Olive Avenue in the Tower District early on Aug. 26 when a man kicked him in the head multiple times.

“Strangers in the Promised Land” examines the challenges faced by the first Armenian settlers in Fresno

“Strangers in a Promised Land” tells the story of the arrival of Armenian refugees in Fresno and the discrimination they faced.
Fresno State will host a film screening on September 20, followed by a panel discussion with Fresno Armenians interviewed in the documentary.
