In the trailer for “Woman Of The Hour,” Anna Kendrick is courted by a murderer

This morning Netflix released the first official teaser for Woman of the hourthe highly anticipated thriller starring Anna Kendrick (In the air), which marks the Oscar nominee's directorial debut and is scheduled to be released on the streamer on October 18.

In the film, written by Ian McDonald, which premiered to critical acclaim at the 2023 Toronto Film Festival, Kendrick plays Cheryl Bradshaw, an aspiring actress in 1970s Los Angeles who, in the midst of a years-long murder spree, finds herself courted by a serial killer (Daniel Zovatto) when their paths cross as contestants on a popular game show. The dating game.

The real murderer, played by Zovatto, is Rodney Alcala, a Californian native who is responsible for at least eight murders in the United States.

Woman of the hour Other leading roles include: Tony Hale (Veep), Nicolette Robinson (A night in Miami …), Pete Holmes (crash), Autumn Best (4400), Kathryn Gallagher (You) and Kelley Jakle (Pitch perfect Franchise). The film was produced by Roy Lee, Miri Yoon, JD Lifshitz and Raphael Margules; executive producers include Stuart Ford, Zach Garrett, Miguel A. Palos, Jr., Kendrick, Ian McDonald, Joe Penna, Matthew Helderman, Luke Taylor, Paul Barbeau, Sean Patrick O'Reilly, Andrew Deane and Stephen Crawford. Lorelle Lynch, Chris Abernathy and Tracy Rosenblum served as co-producers.
