Teenager killed in traffic accident in Madisonville

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Madisonville Police officers said a crash with injuries occurred in the 4100 block of Nebo Road just before 9 p.m. Monday. When officers arrived at the scene, they saw one vehicle, a white Chevrolet Sonic, in the roadway and another, a white Ford Focus, in the ditch on the north side of the road.

According to a police report, the Chevrolet Sonic was traveling northbound when it crossed the center line and struck the Ford Focus. The occupants of the Ford Focus required mechanical extrication, which was performed by the Madisonville Fire Department. The driver and one occupant of the Ford Focus were transported to a local hospital for their injuries.

The driver and a juvenile passenger of the Chevrolet Sonic were also taken by ambulance to a local hospital. The juvenile passenger was later pronounced dead.
