Humid and cool with a feel of early fall in the Pacific Northwest | Weather

Windy morning showers with partly to mostly cloudy skies will be expected in Washington and Oregon starting Wednesday. Highs will be around 21 degrees for most areas, with a few locations fortunately just above 25 degrees. Cloud cover and cool showers may prevent areas near the Columbia Basin from reaching 27 degrees this afternoon. There may be one or two thunderstorms during the morning, but most of these will be near the Blue Mountains. There is a small chance of one in the late morning/early afternoon near the Simcoe Highlands and Yakima Valley. The center of the low pressure system responsible for the active weather will pass just south of our region during the day, ending in western Montana by Thursday morning.

It will be windy to gusty until Thursday as cold, dry air flows in from behind the low pressure system, keeping us at temperatures above 21 degrees for a short time. Thursday night we will see a slight warming from a weak surface ridge, which will bring temperatures above 27 degrees back into the forecast for Friday. On Friday the skies will clear briefly before more clouds slowly form over the course of the weekend.

The weekend will continue in a similar fashion, with increasing cloud cover on Sunday evening before the next long-wave low moves south from the Gulf of Alaska. The low will bring windy conditions, cloudy skies and isolated showers to the region from Monday to Tuesday. Temperatures will drop to 21 degrees early next week and skies will be mostly cloudy until Wednesday.
