Breaking news: Armed and dangerous man from Williamsport wanted for shooting

Pike County, Ohio — On Monday, September 16, at approximately 8:19 p.m., Pike County Sheriff Tracy D. Evans reported a complaint of shots fired near the intersection of Fairview Rd and Lapperell Rd. The incident is believed to have stemmed from an altercation between motorists due to road rage.

The suspect vehicle was reportedly identified as a red 2010 Chevy HHR. Officers with the Pike County Sheriff's Office immediately began patrolling the area but were unable to locate the shooter. However, they later located the vehicle on Grassy Fork Road. A chase ensued, ending near the 1000 block of Zion Road. The driver then fled on foot into a wooded area toward Hackelshin Road.

The driver was identified as 43-year-old Josh Bailey of Williamsport, Ohio. His passenger, 41-year-old Misty Rinehart of Bainbridge, Ohio, was arrested at the scene. Bailey was last seen wearing a black shirt and camouflage pants.

The search for Bailey involved the Adams County Sheriff's Office, Piketon and Waverly police, and the Ohio State Highway Patrol Flight Unit. Authorities believe Bailey is armed and dangerous and are asking anyone with information to contact the Pike County Sheriff's Office.

Warrants are issued against Bailey for charges including aggravated menacing, use of a firearm in a motor vehicle, and fleeing and eluding.
