Northern lights once again illuminate Maine with beautiful colors

Much of Maine, including the south, was treated to another stunning aurora borealis spectacle Monday night. Many viewers sent Maine's Total Coverage pictures of the colors in the sky. Steve Beckwith took this picture at 10:22 p.m. over Ambajejus Lake, with Katahdin visible in the distance. Denise Neil DeAngelis snapped a few pictures between 11:00 and 11:30 p.m. over Great East Lake in Acton. Joshua Zuckerman captured a picture of beautiful colors from his backyard in Rome. Emily Pike of Maine's Total Weather captured the beautiful aurora borealis spectacle from North Conway, New Hampshire. Maine has been treated to several incredible aurora borealis spectacles this year, including in August and after an unusually strong solar storm in May.

In many parts of Maine, including the south, another spectacular spectacle of the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) was offered on Monday evening.
