Police believe Harris County deputy constable was involved in murder-suicide

HOUSTON – Houston police are reconstructing a tragic incident Monday night in which a man (believed to be a Harris County deputy) shot a woman and then turned the gun on himself.

Shortly before 8:15 p.m., officers from the Houston Police Department were called to an apartment in Briar Forest on Highway 6.

There, investigators found a woman in the living room of the apartment who had been shot multiple times. The body of a man with a fatal gunshot wound to the head was also found in the bedroom.

Police have not yet been able to determine the identity of the two, but HPD Commander Hasig believes the man is an auxiliary police officer from the Harris County 4th District Police Office.

At the time of writing, no further details have been released, but an investigation is currently underway.

This is a developing story and will continue to be updated as new information becomes available.
