Oscar®-winning writer and director Spike Lee and Oscar®-winning actor Robert De Niro will join Francis Ford Coppola in a riveting conversation at MEGALOPOLIS: THE ULTIMATE IMAX EXPERIENCE on September 23, 2024.

As part of the 62nd New York Film Festival, the special discussion will be streamed live to IMAX viewers in select cities across the U.S., followed by advance screenings of the film. Tickets are available HERE. NYFF Artistic Director Dennis Lim will moderate the live festival discussion highlighting Francis Ford Coppola's legendary contribution and influence to cinema.

MEGALOPOLIS is a Roman epic set in an imaginary modern America. The city of New Rome is forced to change, leading to conflict between Cesar Catilina (Adam Driver), a genius artist who wants to leap into a utopian, idealistic future, and his opponent, Mayor Franklyn Cicero (Giancarlo Esposito), who remains loyal to a regressive status quo and perpetuates greed, special interests, and partisan warfare. Torn between them is socialite Julia Cicero (Nathalie Emmanuel), the mayor's daughter, whose love for Cesar has divided her loyalties and forces her to explore what she believes humanity truly deserves.

The cast also includes Aubrey Plaza, Shia LaBeouf, Jon Voight, Laurence Fishburne, Kathryn Hunter and Dustin Hoffman. The film is produced by Barry Hirsch, Fred Roos and Michael Bederman. Megalopolis will be released in theaters on September 27.

Francis Ford Coppola is a world-renowned film director who has directed classics such as The Godfather, The Dialogue and Apocalypse Now. He also directed the film version of The Outsiders, the musical adaptation of which is currently running on Broadway and won the Tony Award for Best Musical.
