Briley Turner charged with murder after death of Michael Hodge

Briley Turner (Monroe County Jail).

An Indiana woman accused of attacking a man with a tool normally used to patch damaged tires has been formally charged with murder after her alleged victim died in hospital.

As Law&Crime previously reported, 25-year-old Briley Turner allegedly beat 36-year-old Michael Hodge with a baseball bat and repeatedly stabbed him with a “tire patch tool” on August 18. The violence occurred in an apartment in Bloomington, where police found Turner lying on a couch covered in blood.

She initially claimed it was self-defense, telling police: “I had to defend myself, mate.”
