MarShawn Lloyd makes his Packers debut and suffers another injury

GREEN BAY – MarShawn Lloyd finally had the chance to play his first NFL game of the season with the Green Bay Packers.

“I wasn't sure if I was going to play. I told my family I didn't want them to have to travel,” he said. “The day before the game, I thought about whether I might play. I told my mom I might play. She said, 'If it's possible, I'll come.'”

In the presence of his mother, sister and grandmother, Lloyd carried the ball six times over 15 yards in his debut in the 16-10 victory over the Indianapolis Colts.

However, he had to leave the field in the fourth quarter due to an ankle injury, which further exacerbated the already less than ideal start to the former USC running back's rookie season.
