X-rays of Justin Herbert (Los Angeles Chargers), leg, negative

CHARLOTTE, NC – Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh said Monday that the results of X-rays on quarterback Justin Herbert's lower leg injury were negative.

Harbaugh did not provide any further details about Herbert's injury, saying they would know more on Wednesday when the team issues an injury report.

The injury occurred in the third quarter of Sunday's 26-3 win over the Carolina Panthers. Herbert attempted to escape the pocket but was pulled from behind by linebacker DJ Johnson and simultaneously struck face-first by defensive end Jayden Peevy, trapping his lower body under Johnson.

Herbert left the field and went with trainers to a medical tent, but did not miss a snap. According to his postgame press conference, Herbert was limping noticeably.

The Chargers will remain in Charlotte ahead of Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. LA will practice at UNC Charlotte.
