Man dies in crash on I-90 near Tomah Monday night | News

TOMAH, Wisconsin (WXOW) – A man is dead after a crash late Monday night on I-90 near Tomah.

According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, the accident occurred around 10:10 p.m. near mile marker 37.

They said a 2011 GMC Savanna van and a 2002 Chevy Silverado collided on the eastbound side of the highway.

The impact left both drivers trapped in their vehicles.

The driver of the van died at the scene of the accident.

The other driver was flown by helicopter to La Crosse with serious injuries, according to the State Patrol.

As a result of the accident, the eastbound side of the interstate was closed for nearly four hours for emergency response, investigation and cleanup. Traffic was detoured off the interstate and around the road until it reopened shortly before 2 a.m.

The names of the two people involved were not released pending notification of the family.
