Authorities identify murder victim whose body was found in Manoa sewer

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – The body of a woman found in a sewer in Manoa last Friday has been identified, authorities said.

According to a press release from Honolulu CrimeStoppers on Tuesday, the victim was identified as 50-year-old Christina Baca.

Honolulu police are investigating her death as a homicide and are asking for witnesses to come forward.

Baca was found unconscious in a sewer near the University of Hawaii's Dole Street campus on Friday afternoon.

Authorities said her body was found “in a state of decomposition.”

An autopsy revealed that she had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

Police believe the incident occurred around 2 a.m. on September 4.

Authorities said Baca was last seen wearing a yellow bathing suit and an aloha-print dress. She was about 5 feet 1 inch tall, weighed about 120 pounds, and had light brown hair and blue eyes.
