Anna Delvey jokes that the 'government' will be rooting for her on DWTS (exclusive)

The cast of the 33rd season of Dancing with the stars is ready to give it her all on the dance floor.

In PEOPLE's exclusive featurette ahead of the season premiere on Tuesday, September 17, each member of the star-studded cast shares how they're feeling ahead of their ballroom debut — and Anna Delvey weighs in on the controversy surrounding her participation this season.

Co-hosts Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough open the featurette, with Ribeiro announcing an “amazing season” with “even more incredible dance routines.” [and] and above all, incredible stories.”

Hough agrees. “People don't want to see perfection. They want to see a journey. The more vulnerable and authentic you can be, the more you'll connect with the audience.”

Pretty Little Liars: Summer School Chandler Kinney kicks things off by lining up the contestants while practicing some moves with her partner Brandon Armstrong and saying she's looking forward to “the magical moments” that are to come on the dance floor.

Next up is Eric Roberts, who touts the show as “the greatest entertainment show of all time” before admitting, “I'm honored and flattered and scared to death.” He is paired with Britt Stewart.

Former NFL wide receiver Danny Amendola, who plays alongside returning pro Witney Carson, reveals how he reacted when he was invited to join the team this season: “Man, I need to learn to dance. And fast.”

Amendola, 38, and Carson, 30, are also working on a handshake for the season — but let's cross our fingers that their ballroom dancing skills are better than their handshake memory.

Supermodel Brooks Nader is excited for fans to “get to know” her better this season, teasing that audiences will “see how crazy and wild and hot and insane I am – in a good way, I hope.”

She and her partner Gleb Savchenko also have their eye on the prize. “I heard that no model has ever won. Dancing with the starsso I would like to change that,” says 27-year-old Nader.

Joey Graziadei is also under pressure because he admits that his Bachelor Franchise predecessors – like Charity Lawson – “not only achieved good results, but also won.” So he is working on “not failing at dancing.”

He's also not sure how many people will cheer for him and his partner Jenna Johnson, but he knows that his fiancée Kelsey Anderson will surely take the lead in his fan club.

Tori Spelling, Pasha Pashkov's partner, is approaching the competition differently. “I know I'm not going to be the best dancer. I think if they care about the story, the song, the sets and the wardrobe and the hair and all that stuff that we create, they're not going to look at my feet. That's my strategy.”

Jenn Tran, on the other hand, wants to shock the audience with Sasha Farber – as she has done since her time at The Bachelorette came to an end.

“My dance this season will be as breathtaking as my finale on The Bachelorette” she teases. “I'm really just going to let it all out.”

Olympian Stephen Nedoroscik, paired with Rylee Arnold, knows what the crowd wants – and he's going to give it to them.

“My pre-performance ritual is to tilt my head back, do my breathing exercises, close my eyes and calm down. I will definitely do that before every show,” he says before performing the ritual that made him go viral at the Olympics. “And then when I close my eyes, I also visualize the entire performance.”

Dancing with the stars has been a revelation for fellow Olympian Ilona Maher, who says that there is “a lot more glamour in preparing for DWTS than the Olympics, but that's okay,” while Reginald VelJohnson wants the audience to know that he's not here to mess around.

VelJohnson, who stars alongside Emma Slater, says he wants viewers to think: “He can still do it. Oh wow, look at him, he can still do it. Show these young people who can move.”

Phaedra Parks isn't there to make friends either. “Don't be fooled by the cute Bratz doll face,” says Val Chmerkovskiy's partner. “I came to get the ball – the Mirror Ball. So it's mine.”

Dwight Howard, however, is ready for some fun and gives a hilarious speech directly to the camera before explaining that he and Daniella Karagach, nicknamed “Double D,” are “looking for you.”

At the end of the featurette, Delvey, 33, lists who she hopes will be rooting for her and her partner Ezra Sosa, including “all my friends, Kelly Cutrone, my fashion production team and hopefully everyone else.”

She also hopes that “the government” will cheer her on in the end.
