Man in black robe armed with knife arrested in Canton Township

CANTON TWP. — Stark County sheriff's officers used a Taser Tuesday morning to subdue a 35-year-old man in a costume who was holding a knife and running into the street, the sheriff's office said in a Facebook post.

Pictures of the incident taken by passersby and posted on Facebook showed that the man was wearing a black robe and a black hood like the main character in the “Scream” film series.

The sheriff's office said officers responded to a report of a man in a costume with a knife in the 1400 block of Raff Road SW around 8:28 a.m. Officers say the man brandished a knife.
