City Drug faces exclusion of pharmacy license

CHEYENNE, Wyoming (Wyoming News Now) – Local pharmacy City Drug in Cheyenne is facing the revocation of its pharmacy license.

VIDEO TRANSCRIPTION:

For you as a local pharmacy offering community services such as free delivery, such an impact could have implications for the patient's health.

To find out what was going on, I contacted the Wyoming State Board of Pharmacists and was told they could not provide any further information as to what had led to City Drug's pharmacy license being suspended for Wyoming residents.

However, they said they believed urgent action was needed for public health, safety and welfare.

The suspension will take effect on October 10 to allow patients to switch to another pharmacy.

But I also learned that the decision is not final yet, as a hearing is scheduled so that the city's drug agency can comment on the charges against her.

The Wyoming State Board of Pharmacy meeting will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. in the State Capitol Extension Building.
