Who does Emily end up with?

Warning: Emily in Paris Warning, spoilers for season 4!

Emily says Goodbye to Paris – for now!

Emily in Paris Creator Darren Star put his title character on an emotional rollercoaster ride during Season 4 of the hit Netflix series – and ended with the normally lively Emily Cooper (Lily Collins) experiencing a complete breakdown.

“It was important to show her more vulnerable side this season because there were so many things coming at her,” Collins told PEOPLE in 2024. “You can't always be on top of everything.”

After choosing Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) over Alfie (Lucien Laviscount) in part 1 of season 4, Emily is faced with the harsh reality of being the fifth wheel to her boyfriend and his pregnant ex-girlfriend Camille (Camille Razat). A Christmas disaster in which Gabriel leaves amateur skier Emily alone on the slopes leads to the couple's separation, but paves the way for a meet-cute between Emily and Italian heartthrob Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini).

Desperate for a break from her life in Paris, Emily accepts Marcello's irresistible invitation to accompany him to Rome for a long weekend. A fortunate turn of events at the end of the fourth season gives Emily a new adventure in another foreign city: she heads the Roman office of Agence Grateau.

Here you can find out everything about the fourth season of Emily in Paris ends, including the question of which guy will win Emily's heart.

At the end of the fourth season, viewers see Emily fall madly in love with Marcello, the heir to an Italian luxury cashmere company named Umberto Muratori.

Emily and Marcello first meet while skiing in Megève, France – after Gabriel leaves her on the slopes. Marcello helps Emily get down the mountain safely before storming off and yelling at Gabriel, ultimately ending their relationship.

After the breakup, Emily accompanies her best friend Mindy Chen (Ashley Park) to watch her boyfriend Nicolas de Léon (Paul Forman) play a polo match. To Emily's surprise, she sees Marcello on a horse and the two agree to meet before he leaves Paris for Rome.

Their romance blossoms after they wander the streets of Paris until sunrise. As they say goodbye at a party hosted by Agence Grateau, Marcello suggests that Emily visit him in the Eternal City.

Emily is on holiday in Rome, but when her boss Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu) finds out about her destination, she crashes the holiday in the hope of getting Umberto Muratori as a client. When Sylvie suddenly asks Marcello for a meeting, he begins to wonder if Emily has come to Rome for him or to close a deal.

Although Emily tracks down Marcello in Solitano and apologizes for Sylvie's ambitions, the “Italian Stallion,” as Mindy calls him, doesn't change his mind until the final minutes of season four.

“I don't want to work with you, Marcello, I want to be with you,” Emily says. Marcello responds with a smile and a kiss.

Then Emily learns that she will be staying in Rome for work reasons, and the final scene sees the couple riding off into the sunset on a Vespa, Lizzie McGuire-style.

In part 1 of the fourth season, Camille learns that she is not pregnant. Her gynecologist suspects that one of the medications she takes daily caused a false positive pregnancy test and attributes her missed period to stress.

Camille waits what feels like weeks before she can tell Gabriel that she is not having his baby – and decides to break the news to him while they spend Christmas with their family in Megève.

Back in Paris, Camille asks Gabriel to have lunch with her out of town – a clever move to introduce him to her family's priest and talk about adoption. Understandably, Gabriel is surprised and says, “We're not together. We both deserve a family with someone we're in love with.”

In the last episodes of Emily in Paris In season 4, viewers meet Marcello and Genevieve (Thalia Besson) – Sylvie's stepdaughter, an American from New York who, like Emily, is desperate to live and work in Paris. After Sylvie gives her a job at Agence Grateau, Genevieve falls in love with Gabriel, who does not return her feelings.

After much anticipation, Gabriel's restaurant finally gets a Michelin star. The news is bittersweet, however, as Emily isn't there to celebrate. The exes play phone ping pong before Mindy tells a melancholy Gabriel that Emily is moving to Rome. After losing “Cooper” to another man, Alfie encourages his friend to fight for “the greatest girl in the world.” Gabriel follows his advice and asks Mindy to tell him “exactly” where to find Emily.

Mindy, on the other hand, is on the road to redemption after breaking up with Nico and losing her chance to take part in the Eurovision Song Contest. She accepts the offer to be a judge on Chinese superstar after a video of her performance on the streets of Rome went viral.

In season 4, Camille also plans to adopt a baby of her own, while Alfie enters into a committed relationship with someone new.
