Wildcard ranking, top seeds AL and NL

With no more than seven games separating the top five teams in each league, the composition of the playoffs in Major League Baseball remains uncertain as the regular season draws to a close.

While a handful of division leaders have comfortable leads – or are counting down smaller and smaller magic numbers to secure victory – the wildcard spots and overall rankings are still up for grabs.

This is what the playoff participants of the American and national leagues would look like if the postseason started today:
