Residents react, new details revealed in investigation into Manoa murder victim found in sewer | Local

Police have determined the identity of the woman who was found shot to death near the University of Hawaii on September 13. Investigators are now asking the public for help in finding her killer.

HONOLULU (Island News) – The identity of the woman found murdered in Manoa has been released as Honolulu police search for the suspect in connection with the shooting death.

Christina Baca's body was found last Friday in a sewer next to Wa'ahila Faculty Housing on Dole Street.

Over the past four years, the 50-year-old victim received ten police reports for sleeping in the park, camping on the sidewalk or trespassing. During this time, Christina had no permanent address.

Residents of the complex next to where her body was found say they regularly see homeless people near their buildings.

“I didn’t see many homeless people, just a few people with carts,” said Youjeong Kim.

“The homeless here usually come out after dark. They don't bother anyone, they keep to themselves and don't attract attention,” explained Alex Loza.
